10 Strange Alien Abductions or Alien Encounters
Rocker Sammy Hagar recently went public with his claim that he was abducted by aliens. Manypeople, some of them famous, over the years have made similar claims. Whether you believe inUFOs, aliens, or not, it’s clear that these people truly believe that they have made otherworldlytrips with aliens. Here are ten of the weirdest alien abduction stories of all time.
1. Sammy Hagar
In an interview with the MTV Hive in March 2011, rock singer Sammy Hagar recountsan alien abduction story. The interview, which was in conjunction with the release of hismemoirs, Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock, explores Hagar’s dreams of alien abductionand actual belief that “[Aliens] were plugged into me. It was a download situation. This waslong before computers or any kind of wireless… Especially back a few decades ago, whenthis stuff happened to me. I couldn’t talk about it because I didn’t know how to explain it. Ididn’t understand the technology. But now I’m pretty sure it was a wireless situation. Either adownload or upload. They were tapped into my brain and the knowledge was transferred back and forth. I could see them and everything while it was happening. There was a visual involved,almost like … I don’t know.”
2. Betty and Barney Hill
Husband and wife Betty and Barney Hill have one of the classic alien abduction stories of all time. Driving home from a trip in 1961, they say they noticed a strange light in the sky following them. By the time they made it home, they realized that they couldn’t account for two hours of time. After being hypnotized by a psychiatrist, the couple recalled their alien abduction and being surrounded by human-looking aliens with wrap-around eyes. Betty even recalled having a needle stuck into her navel by one of them. Many skeptics poo-pooed the Hills’ story, but others believed their journey was real.
3. Ronald Reagan
This story may be hearsay, but here goes. Actress Shirley MacLaine related a story she said was told to her by entertainer Lucille Ball back when Ronald Reagan was still an actor. Ball claims that Reagan and his wife Nancy were late arriving at a party. When they finally got there, Ball said Reagan took her aside and said on the way there, a UFO had landed near their vehicle. It has been said that Reagan told Ball that a ladder appeared and an alien climbed out of the craft, and proceeded to tell Reagan to quit acting work and go into politics. While the Reagans weren’t abducted by aliens, if this story is true, it may explain how Reagan made the decision to go into politics and later became President of the United States. This story sounds a bit far-fetched, but what else do you expect from the queen of weird phenomena, Ms. MacLaine (who has had herself insured against alien abduction)?
4. Russian Leader Kirsan Ilyumzhinov
Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, the leader of Russia’s southern region of Kalymkia, told a Russian television news host that he believes he was abducted by aliens in 1997. Ilyumzhinov says that he taken from his Moscow apartment aboard a spacecraft by human-like creatures wearing yellow spacesuits. He goes on to claim that the aliens were on Earth to take “samples,” and that they gave him a tour of their ship. Some Russian politicians have urged current Russian president Dmitry Medvedev to investigate Ilyumzhinov’s claim, fearing that he told the aliens state secrets.
5. Stan Romanek
Stan Romanek claims to have seen his first UFO in Denver in 2001. Since that time, he claims to have seen many UFOs, have photos of UFOs, and to have been personally touched by extraterrestrials. Romanek says that aliens knocked on his door in the middle of the night and took him outside onto his balcony and performed some sort of operation on him in an unknown location. Romanek has gone on to write books and make films about his and others’ alien abduction experiences.
6. Antonio Villas Boas
Boas claims to have been abducted by aliens in 1957 and sexually assaulted by them. Boas reported seeing strange lights in the sky about 10 days prior to his abduction from his family’s farm. He was out working in the fields at 1 am one night when he says aliens landed and grabbed him, took him aboard their ship, and he was subsequently sexually assaulted by a female succubus. He was returned to his tractor about 5:30 am. After this encounter, physicians found Boas was suffering from radiation poisoning and had physical marks consistent with an actual abduction experience.
7. Travis Walton
In 1975, worker Travis Walton and some co-workers say they were coming home from work and saw an object in the sky. They stopped the truck and Walton got out to get a better look. Suddenly, according to the men, Walton was struck by a beam of light and knocked to the ground. His friends sped away in the truck, and came back later to find that Walton had vanished. Walton was not found for five days, when he finally returned, very weak and ill. Walton said he remembered being on board a spaceship with small aliens with large eyes. This story was later made into the movie and book “Fire in the Sky.”
8. Kelly Cahill
Strangely enough, most alien abduction stories over the years have been related by men. Kelly Cahill’s story is one exception. In 1993, Cahill and her family were driving to their home in Australia after midnight when they came upon a bright, blinding light. The next thing she knew, Cahill says, was that it was an hour later and she felt very calm, except for the fact that she had lost an hour’s worth of time. Cahill later noticed strange marks on her body and had unexplained tiredness and an infection for the next week. Cahill finally did remember many foul-smelling aliens abducting her and her family.
9. Grace Askew
Another Australian woman who claims to have had alien encounters is Grace Askew. She claims to have first seen a UFO when driving around with her girlfriends one night. Then two weeks later, her 15 year old son was screaming at night and said there was a presence in his room and a strange sound. She looked outside and saw the same UFO she’d seen two weeks ago, this time witnessed by her husband as well.
10. Linda Napolitano
Yet another woman with an alien abduction story, Linda Napolitano claims to have been abducted from her New York apartment in 1989 by two gray aliens who performed medical procedures on her. This was witnessed by two men who verified that they saw the abduction take place. Napolitano claimed to have almost no memory of the abduction but noted the passing of time.
